BOAT FIRE SAFETY DAY AT CRICK MARINA
On Easter Bank Holiday Monday, Crick Marina in conjunction with the Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, held a Boat Fire Safety Day at the marina.
Fire & Rescue Personnel from Daventry Fire Station spent the day at the Marina and set up boat fire safety information boards. During the day moorers visited the display and signed up for boat fire safety visits. Ten boats were visited, where fire and rescue personnel discussed with the owners varying aspects of boat fire safety. At the end of each visit smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors were left for owners to fit, in addition to fire safety literature and an emergency contact aide memoir.
The Crick Marina Harbour Master said “As a former firefighter I am very keen on developing good community relations with our local fire and rescue service, not only for such events as these, but also to ensure good pre-planning is in place should we ever need them in an emergency. This was the second such event and we have already planned a further event in August”.
